Volunteer Chair

The Role

The Volunteer Chair organizes efforts to recruit, coordinate and thank volunteers. This person is responsible for ensuring volunteers are assigned to meaningful/relevant projects and receive their recognition. The Volunteer Chair supports all Board members with volunteer needs and sets expectations with each volunteer.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all Volunteer coordination efforts to include:
    • Volunteer List
    • Reports
    • Forms
    • Volunteer Request
    • Volunteer Agreement
    • Completed Agreement Forms
    • Volunteer Thank Yous
  • Compose written communication via the Chapter website, e-newsletter or email campaign to let potential volunteers know what’s planned and how they can help.
  • Contact new, or potential members to get them involved as volunteers. 
  • Coordinate and plan volunteer recruitment events, such as a volunteer informational lunch.
  • Work directly with the Directors and Chairs to understand and deliver on their volunteer needs.

Requirements

  • Show strong organization and management skills.
  • Consistently deliver volunteers to Directors and Chairs.
  • Be an active AIGA Member.
  • Fulfill a 1 year term.
  • Propose and execute a succession plan.
