The Role
The Student Development Chair serves as the primary advocate and resource for student group interests, and reports to the Education Director.
- Serve as primary liaison, advocate, and resource for student groups affiliated with AIGA Austin
- Work with Education Director to establish yearly and long-term goals
- Develop and/or maintain and execute programming to meet the needs of student groups
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain consistent communication with student groups affiliated with AIGA Austin
- Meet regularly with Education Director
- Advocate for student groups and develop programs as needed to facilitate their successful operation and growth
- Assess and communicate student group activities and needs to Education Director
- Coordinate with Scholarship Chair to publicize scholarship opportunities to students in the region
- Attend monthly board meetings as needed
Requirements
- Ability and interest in consistently meeting with student group leadership
- Ability to assess needs and devise appropriate programming to address these needs
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organization and project management skills.
