Professional Development Chair

The Role

Are you someone who enjoys connecting people to resources that can help them grow as a designer? Do you have experience mentoring others or helping people find success in their careers? This role is all about helping the design community navigate an ever-changing landscape. If that sounds exciting, then this role may be for you.

Job Description

The Professional Development Chair is responsible for managing programs and tools on behalf of the AIGA Austin chapter that will provide educational value to its members. This is a highly creative role with room to propose and create new events or resources with the support of the board. 

This person will work closely with the Programming Director and Education Director. The focus of this role is on mid-level to senior designers. While there is some overlap, if you’re interested in supporting students or emerging designers, please check out our other positions or reach out to education@austin.aiga.org for volunteer opportunities. 

Term: 1 year
Time Commitment: 8 – 10 hrs/month
