Get Out the Vote is a AIGA’s civic engagement initiative wielding the power of design to motivate the American public to register and turn out to vote in the 2018 mid-term election. AIGA has activated its community of designers across the U.S. and beyond to Get Out the Vote every four years since 2000. The nonpartisan campaign is part of Design for Democracy, an AIGA initiative to increase civic participation through design.
A Call to Action
We want to enable our community to have all the resources they need in order to register and vote. We are pushing this civic engagement by:
- Presenting an online gallery of original, nonpartisan posters for printing and public distribution
- Having local Travis County Volunteer Deputy Registrars registering voters at AIGA Austin events
How can you help?
There are many ways you can get involved.
- Submit a poster to our gallery
Fill out our typeform and send us a link to your artwork. Posters will need to be size 11″x17″ and in .pdf/.jpg CMYK format. Submissions will be accepted until November 6, 2018. Posters need to be non-partisan in order to be featured in our gallery. This is not a poster competition. Check out the national gallery for inspiration!
- Part of a student group?
Mobilize your group to submit poster designs or print out some of your favorites and post them around your campus.
How to register to vote in the state of Texas
The state of Texas requires that voters submit registration forms by mail or through a deputized voter registrar. We will have VDRs present at all AIGA Austin events. The last day to be registered for the November 6th election is October 9th, 2018.
