UNDER THE RADAR WITH BRAD WOODARD
Discover and celebrate killer design in our own backyard! AIGA Austin's lecture series, Under the Radar, features local design badasses that put Austin on the map. Admission includes one taco ticket and enjoy free beer with your purchase of an Under the Radar pint glass.
Brad is a designer, illustrator, husband and father of two little kids. Before settling in Austin, TX he and his wife Krystal moved all over the states looking for a place to set some roots, and start their own design and illustration studio, Brave the Woods. His path to starting his own business included sleepless nights working freelance, while still attending his full-time jobs at small startups, like Column Five Media, and large agencies, like Arnold Worldwide. As a result, he quickly gained an impressive breadth of experience.
Brave the Woods is a studio of friendly folks who love collaborating with friends and clients alike. With an emphasis on creating work that not only makes you feel good, but does good, they work on everything from children's books to brand identities. The name Brave the Woods is a call to action to be curious and adventurous, and is the motto that drives the studio's creativity.
When Brad isn't creating, he is enjoying the great outdoors, playing basketball, or road tripping with his family. And he never turns down an opportunity to chat design with other creatives over lunch.
