ABOUT TY WILKINS
Austin-based designer and illustrator Ty Wilkins is sought after for his powerful approach to branding, illustration, icon design and custom lettering. He has worked solo as TY Design & Illustration since 2010, collaborating directly with clients, design firms and advertising agencies across the U.S. and internationally. He is perhaps best known for his bold and colorful work for brands including Target, Cheerios, Odwalla, Pepsi, IBM, UPS, Dropbox, Facebook, The North Face, Cisco and GE. Additionally, he has branded several tech start-ups that were later acquired including Orchestra (makers of Mailbox, acquired by Dropbox), Grand St. (acquired by Etsy) and CloudUp (acquired by Automattic, makers of WordPress). His experience as a logo designer has informed his illustration work. His editorial illustration work can be seen in numerous publications including Monocle, ESPN Magazine, Wired, Anorak, Uppercase and Bloomberg. Ty is a native Texan though he’s a relative newcomer to Austin. He graduated from high school in Buenos Aires, Argentina and then attended Auburn University where he received a BFA in Graphic Design. Just prior to starting his own company, Ty worked for Gardner Design where he honed his interest in logo design and had the opportunity to redesign LogoLounge.com. His work has been recognized by the Type Director's Club, AIGA and Communication Arts.
