Melissa, founder of small nod design— a brand and spatial design studio focused on presence, clarity, and creative support to bridge both the physical and digital when it comes to brand presence. They create unique experiences like the "reflection room" concept we introduced during Austin Studio Tour, a quiet cozy space for folks to slow down and reflect.

Small nod design is also experimenting with the limits of artistic intelligence — noticing where it opens up new ways of seeing, and where it falls short of lived experience, embodied presence, or nuance that comes from real conversation. It’s been an interesting exploration on how AI is shifting the design process, and what still needs a human hand.
