Katie Johnson is a lettering artist living in Austin, Texas. After working for several years as an art director, she left to open her own studio, Katie Made That, through which she focuses on freelance, art licensing, teaching, and selling her own line of hand-lettered paper goods.

She also manages an art education initiative she founded in 2010 called The Monster Project. The project asks professional illustrators to reimagine children's drawings of monsters in an effort to teach kids about the power of their imaginations and get them excited about art at a young age. Over the years, the project has traveled to places like San Francisco, New York, Indianapolis, and even Berlin, and has reached thousands of kids and artists.

Katie also enjoys consuming questionable amounts of pasta, hanging with her husband and two cats, and resting her brain after a long day's work with some bad reality TV.
