The Role
The Education Director is an advocate for the role of education in the life of a designer. They develop and oversee the strategy for education-focused programming, and seek to expand regional student and faculty participation in the design community. The Education Director advises on and oversees the work of Education Committee Chairs.
Responsibilities
- Works with Education Committee Chairs to annually review and establish Education goals for the chapter
- Oversees the work of Education Committee Chairs to ensure successful execution of programming to meet the established yearly goals
- Serves as an advocate and resource for Education Committee Chairs
- Administers Education budget
- Maintains active relationships with faculty in the region
- Attends monthly board meetings and contributes to general strategy for chapter
Requirements
- Show strong organization and management skills.
- Consistent communication among board members, AIGA members, and the greater design community.
- Be an active AIGA Member
- Fulfill a 2 year term
- Propose and execute a succession plan
