Social Media Chair

The Role

The Social Media Chair is responsible for posting and updating all social media on (and for the Chapter. They will work with the board to post any communications regarding events, lectures, updates, and more in a timely manner. They will also be responsible, along with the Communications Director and Executive Board, to respond to any feedback received on these channels.

  • Support the Communications and Technology Directors with the digital communications strategy and execution on social channels.
  • Assure that the Chapter communicates its mission clearly and consistently with its goals and objectives and assuring the accountability of the organization to the interests of the Members.
  • Serve as a liaison for all digital channels for the Board and Membership to connect.

Responsibilities

  • Managing/overseeing the following Chapter accounts:
    • Instagram
    • Facebook
    • LinkedIn
    • X (Twitter)
  • Maintain AIGA Austin’s Google Drive information for the following:
    • Social Media Information
    • Social Media Requests
  • Promote events and web updates in a consistent and timely manner on www.austin.aiga.org.
  • Manage social accounts and aliases and routing communication to the appropriate board member or chair.
  • Work with the Communications and Technology Directors to create and maintain up-to-date best practices and content creation tips for The Chapter.
  • Work with the Director of Communications, Technology Director, and the Chapter to ensure that all events are captured and communicated on all digital channels.

Requirements

  • Show strong organization and management skills.
  • Be an active AIGA Member.
  • Fulfill a 1 year term.
  • Propose and execute a succession plan.
