Austin Design Week 2016 | November 7-11

We invited the local creative community to submit for the call for entry to design the visual identity of the inaugural Austin Design Week and the response was awesome! After much review and consideration, the AIGA Austin Board of Directors have chosen The Label Collective to support the Austin Design Week Committee in their mission to unite designers across Austin to act as one inclusive community – sharing their talents, projects, ideas and work spaces. The Label Collective is being recognized for their work and will be invited to the Austin Design Week Advisory Committee as 2016 Visual Identity Advisors and will be highlighted as a Design Week Sponsor.

The Label Collective is owned by Erin Pitts and Kristin Waddington, twin sisters who melded minds to create a full-service virtual studio that offers tailored, intelligent, strategic creative solutions for every brand. They work together with a number of talented, top-notch, local solopreneurs and small businesses who believe the best quality of work comes when design and strategy is viewed as a partnership, not just another service. In the end, their goal is to make every brand even more successful, question everything, and prove the tangible value that a well-thought, creative approach can bring to any business. Some of The Label Collective’s current clients include Bazaarvoice, ePatientFinder, SXSW Gaming, and The Wine & Food Foundation of Texas.

Thank you to everyone who submitted, your work was impressive and the final decision was a hard one to make. It ultimately came down to their breadth of work and their keen understanding of what a Design Week should be all about and said it well in their submission statement, “…the Austin community is yearning for this type of event, an event that allows all of us to discover what we’re missing within our creative silos.”.

Celebrate Austin design through a week of workshops, talks, studio tours and events this November as the city celebrates its creative economy in the inaugural Austin Design Week.

Stay tuned to the Austin Design Week website for more information on how to get involved.

If you design it, they will come.
