Under the Radar is a lecture series featuring our local design badasses who are helping put Austin on the map. Come out to discover and celebrate killer design that is taking place in our own backyard. Admission includes one taco ticket and free beer comes with your purchase of a Under the Radar pint glass.
Stu is a designer and musician living in South Austin, Texas with his wife and two daughters. In his life before design, Stu spent many years as a working musician who toured and recorded with artists as an electric guitar player. Like many folks in the design industry, Stu found himself here on accident. What started as an attempt to make more money than music could provide, turned into something he was truly passionate about. Stu now leads the team at Sputnik Creative, an agency that specializes in developing brands and experiences for clients.
Sputnik is differentiated by its team who genuinely believe in seeing their clients more as partners than just check-writers. Aside from being just an interesting word, the name Sputnik means “Fellow Traveler” in Russian. This name and its meaning is wholeheartedly applied throughout the agency’s work.
Outside of Sputnik, Stu is an avid supporter of the Austin design community working as a co-organizer of CreativeMornings/Austin for over a year, and an Advisor to The Iron Yard. He also would not hate discussing this with you over a beer or coffee.
