AIGA AUSTIN PRESENTS:
A show and tell from 'a badassery of women’, Raise Up is a three part fall series from AIGA Austin that lets you in the lives and careers of three phenomenally, bad ass women in the advertising industry. They will each share their story of how the got to where they are—partners and CEOs—in and what they do to remain there while continuously growing. They will each open their agency to us and marvel us with their secrets to succeed in a field predominately ran by men. Come out, get comfortable and enjoy fantastic tales. First up is Leslie Wingo a twenty-year advertising veteran that leads SandersWingo—an agency of 90 people across offices in Austin, El Paso, Atlanta and New York. She is a respected community leader in the areas of marketing, social welfare and cultural diversity. Leslie oversees the firm’s strategic direction, day-to-day operations and overall business development. She spearheads and develops all SandersWingo community involvement initiatives. Leslie has directed and managed brand development for some of the nation’s most notable brands, including State Farm, United States Postal Service and the Burger King Corporation. In 2012 she was named by Black Enterprise Magazine as one of the nation’s Top Women in Advertising and Marketing. Leslie has served in director and committee chair roles on several boards, including the Austin Advertising Federation, the American Heart Association of Texas, the American Lung Association, the Austin Planetarium, the Contemporary Austin and AIDS Services of Austin. www.sanderswingo.com @sanderswingo
